About “Skills First” recognition of prior learning

Recognition of prior learning is a credible and practical skills recognition process that looks at what you know and can do, and may lead to recognition for your skills and knowledge – regardless of how you acquired them.

All registered training organisations are required to offer recognition of prior learning to customers upon enrolment to meet the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) standard.

“Skills First” recognition of prior learning criteria have been developed in response to the need for more accessible, streamlined, work based skills recognition services, focused on individual customers and industry workforces.
